Place a hold / Request

Request form for place holds / borrow books from other Keio libraries and outside Keio.
*This is a common request form for all campuses. Please make sure to select your campus and pick-up library.

This service is only available to faculty and staff, graduate and undergraduate students, and correspondence course students who have registered for a bachelor's thesis.

You can place holds on books which are currently on loan, or borrow books from other libraries (inside/outside Keio).
If you place holds / request books from other Keio libraries,
please use KOSMOS My Library . ※See "What is My Library?"
If you do not have a Keio ID (keio.jp), submit a request using the form above.

This form can be used to request books of Yamanaka depository that can't use KOSMOS My Library.
For the rules of request from Yamanaka depository, see here (only available in Japanese).

You may be charged for borrowing books from outside libraries.

Request a photocopy

This service is only available to faculty and staff, graduate and undergraduate students, and correspondence course students who have registered for a bachelor's thesis.

You can request a photocopy of the articles from other libraries (inside/outside Keio).
Please submit one request per article.
You must be charged.

Place a purchase request

Place a purchase request form

You can place a purchase request to the Media Center for an item that is not held in the Center.
Purchase decision is made according to a book-selection policy of each Media Center. Purchase may not be available due to lack of stock or other reasons.
It will take some time before you receive the item after placing a request. Please apply well in advance.

Using outside libraries

Application form for a letter of introduction

When you use outside libraries, you may be asked to bring a letter of introduction issued by the affiliated library. You may find related information in the website of the library that you want to visit.

This service is only available to faculty, staff, graduate students, undergraduate students and correspondence course students who have registered for a bachelor's thesis affiliated with Keio University.
Issuance of a letter will be after the next day of your application.

Using items in laboratories in Hiyoshi

You can request items in laboratories in Hiyoshi Campus to be delivered to the Hiyoshi Media Center (Hiyoshi Library). No loan is allowed. It may take some time before you receive the item.
A service policy varies by each laboratory.

Laboratories offering the service Art, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Musicology, Joint Laboratory, and Raiosha Reference Library

There is no loan service for items in laboratories(only for use in the Hiyoshi Library). Please note that items from Mathematics laboratory can be stored and used in the Media Center for only 3 days, shorter than the allowed period by other laboratories.

Using Hiyoshi Depository items

The following is how to use items in Hiyoshi Repository.

■Faculty/staff
Receive the IC Card Key for the depository at the Main Counter. If you have the IC Card Key for Raiosha or Kyoseikan (Keio Collaboration Complex), you can use the card for entry by registering the card at the Hiyoshi Library Main Counter. (Register hours; weekdays 8:45-17:00) The depository is available from opening to 30 minutes before closing of Hiyoshi Library.

■Others
No entry to the depository is allowed.
Please apply for the use of the item from “Request form for Hiyoshi laboratories/depository items”, or at the Main Counter.
Time of application and time available for use are as follows;

  • By noon, weekdays (Monday-Friday) → 3PM, the same day
  • After noon, weekdays (Monday-Thursday) → 3PM, the next open day
  • Friday afternoon/Saturday/Sunday → 3PM, the next open Monday or after

Desks and a copy machine are provided in Hiyoshi Depository.

Using materials in the Rare Books Room

Rare and semi-rare books such as those in the Chiruu Yamanaka Collection are located in the Rare Books Room on the fourth floor of Hiyoshi Library. You cannot enter the room directly. When you want to use a book from the Rare Books Room, you must ask a staff member to take it out for you.
You can use books from the room until 30 minutes before Hiyoshi Library closes (4:30 PM for those not affiliated with the university).

Using NDL digitized materials

You can use the Digitized Contents Transmission Service for Libraries offered by the National Diet Library (NDL) and view or print out NDL digital materials at Hiyoshi Media Center.
This service is only available to faculty and staff, graduate and undergraduate students, correspondence course students who have registered for a bachelor's thesis, and students attending classes as part of a correspondence course (year-long, summer, or night).

Seminar booking (for faculties)

Information literacy seminar booking form

“Information literacy seminar” is arranged according to the request of the instructors.Arrangements including date, place and content are made through discussion between the applicant and the Media Center staff.You may ask for library tours, reference books introduction, databases introduction, lectures on library research and finding library materials for specific subjects and database practical trainings. Please feel free to consult us.

In case of asking a seminar for specific subject, please submit a request two weeks in advance to allow time to prepare.

Place course materials on Reserve (for faculties)

Course Reserve Request Form

The library will place books from the general collection stack on reserve. See “here” for detail.
It will take some time for preparing the item after submitting a request. Please apply well in advance.
