Floor Plan

The 1st floor

Main Counter(Circulation)

Come to the counter to check out and return books.
Hours : Opening - 10 minutes before closing

Study Support (Reference Desk)

The desk accepts inquiries how to use library and how to get information you want.
Hours : 9:00 - 17:00 on weekdays

Audio-Visual Booths

The area is a space for viewing/listening to AV materials belonging to the Media Center.
DVDs, VHSs, LDs and CDs are available. Apply at Main Counter to use the service.
Equipment : 14 individual booths, 2 sofa booths (One material can be shared by 4 persons at one time.)
*16mm films and slides can be used in the AV hall. (Only for faculty/staff)

PC Area

The PC Areas are on the 1st and 2nd floors.

PC Area - Lounge 21 PCs
It provides not only internet PCs but good environment for browsing recommended books and book reviews.
PC Area ? Center 20 PCs (including 4 PCs with scanners)
Seminars using PCs are held here.
PC Area - Boulevard 16 PCs with headphones
Seminar Area 24 seats

The area is generally used for reading books. It can also be used for seminars.

Newspapers & Current Journals

Current Newspapers(2000 - ), The latest issues of weekly magazines.

Textbooks

Textbooks quoted in the course syllabus. Library use only.
Another copy available for loan may be shelved in general collection stack.
Textbooks for language learning do not have a duplicate copy.

Quick Reference Books

News-terms-dictionaries, The latest version of the statistics/yearbooks/whitepapers as references for the initial step of research in a report writing and other studies, Recommended books for writing. Library use only.

Reference Books

Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Bibliographies, Indexes, Statistics, Yearbook, Maps, and others Library use only.

Newly-Arrived Books

Books newly arrived are placed every morning.
Chairs are provided in front of the shelf for browsing.

Exhibition Case

Exhibitions on various themes are held by using library collection.

2nd floor

Group Study Room

The Study Rooms are provided on the 2nd and 3rd floors for group study through discussion. The rooms do not need to be reserved in advance. A whiteboard in the room may be freely used. You may borrow markers at Main Counter on the 1st floor by showing your ID.

Balcony

Casual books that are good for a change - guide books for travel/studying abroad, hobby/entertainment books and contemporary novels.
Books written by alumni of Keio University - especially works by entrepreneurs, contemporary novelists and talked-about persons.

PC Area

PC Areas are provided on the 1st and 2nd floors.

PC Area - 2nd floor 46 PCs
This area is recommended when you want to use the Internet in a private place or concentrate on report writing. The space separated as a booth offers a quiet work setting.

3rd floor

Language Learning Books

Easy-to-read foreign books - Penguin Readers, Macmillan Readers, Oxford Bookworks Readers,
Cambridge English Readers and others
Textbooks for foreign language qualification tests.
Picture books

4th floor

Microform Reader Printer

You may read/print your own microfilms/microfiches..The price of print is \10 per sheet.
Hours : Opening - 30 minutes before closing on weekdays

Camera stand

Advanced reservation is required.

Cubicles

16 individual cubicles are provided for faculty/staff of Keio University.
Reservation may be made at the 4th floor counter

  • Full-time faculty/staff: Same day and advanced reservation is available.
  • Part-time faculty/stuff: Same day reservation is available.

Stacks

Statutes, Law reports, Whitepapers, Reduced-size edition newspapers (-1980), Microfilm/microfiche archives, others.

Hall

The hall is available for classes and events using AV materials or presentation training by students. Advance reservation is required.
